  • student name;

  • age or date of birth where necessary;

  • class or level;

  • bookings and attendance;

  • performance participation;

  • parent or legal guardian contact details.

For minors, bookings and important communications should normally be handled through the parent or legal guardian.

We do not send direct marketing communications to children.

Identifiable photographs or videos of children may be used for promotional purposes only where an appropriate parent or legal guardian permission or another lawful basis applies.

5. Health and Safety Information

A-Ballet does not routinely request medical records or detailed medical diagnoses.

Participants or parents may be asked to inform the teacher of an injury, physical limitation or other condition where this is necessary for safe participation.

Where health information is recorded, we collect only the minimum information reasonably necessary and process it only where an appropriate legal basis under the GDPR applies.

6. Payment and Invoice Data

When you purchase a School service, we may process:

  • service purchased;

  • amount paid;

  • payment status;

  • transaction or payment reference;

  • billing information;

  • invoice or receipt information.

  • pages visited;

  • date and time of access;

Further information is available in our Cookie Policy.

8. Legal Bases for Processing

We process personal data only where a valid legal basis applies.

Contract Performance

GDPR Article 6(1)(b)

We process information necessary to:

  • manage bookings;

  • provide classes and School services;

  • administer packages and subscriptions;

  • communicate schedule changes or cancellations;

  • manage participation and attendance;

  • process payments and customer requests.

Legal Obligations

GDPR Article 6(1)(c)

We process and retain information where required by accounting, tax, invoicing or other applicable legal obligations.

Legitimate Interests

GDPR Article 6(1)(f)

Where appropriate, we may process data for legitimate interests including:

  • website and account security;

  • fraud prevention;

  • internal administration;

  • service management;

  • establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

When relying on legitimate interests, we consider the rights and reasonable expectations of the persons concerned, with particular care where children are involved.

Consent

GDPR Article 6(1)(a)

We rely on consent where appropriate, including for:

  • direct marketing communications;

  • analytics and marketing technologies, including Meta Pixel, where consent is required;

  • identifiable promotional photography and video;

  • optional WhatsApp participation.

Consent is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time.

Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal.

9. Class and Service Communications

When you book or purchase a School service, we may contact you without separate marketing consent where communication is necessary to provide that service.

This may include:

  • booking confirmations;

  • class reminders;

  • schedule or location changes;

  • cancellations;

  • teacher changes;

  • payment or package information;

  • important class instructions;

  • information necessary for participation.

These communications are service-related and are not treated as marketing communications.

10. Marketing Communications

Marketing emails, SMS messages or similar direct marketing communications are sent only where the recipient has provided the required consent.

Marketing may include information about:

  • new classes;

  • new programmes;

  • intensives;

  • performances;

  • promotions;

  • offers;

  • other A-Ballet news.

Marketing consent is voluntary and is not required to book or attend regular A-Ballet School classes.

You may withdraw your marketing consent at any time by using the unsubscribe option where available or by contacting:

worldaballet@gmail.com

After withdrawal, marketing communications will stop and personal data used solely for that marketing purpose will be deleted unless another lawful basis requires its retention.

11. WhatsApp Groups

Participation in A-Ballet WhatsApp groups is optional.

Booking a class or providing a telephone number does not automatically mean that you must join a WhatsApp group.

Where available, participants or parents may voluntarily join a group using an invitation link or another voluntary joining method.

Depending on WhatsApp settings and group structure, your telephone number, profile name, profile image or other profile information may be visible to other group members.

WhatsApp also processes personal data under its own privacy terms.

Important information necessary for a booked service may also be communicated through official A-Ballet booking or email channels, so participation in WhatsApp is not required in order to receive the School service.

12. Photography and Video

Photographs and video recordings may be created during classes, rehearsals, workshops, School activities, performances and events.

For identifiable photographs or recordings used for A-Ballet promotional, advertising or public communication purposes, appropriate media permission will be obtained where required.

For minors, this permission is provided by a parent or legal guardian.

Media permission may be collected electronically and may normally apply for the relevant School year.

Giving promotional media permission is voluntary and is not a condition of attending regular A-Ballet School classes.

Media permission may be withdrawn for future use by contacting:

worldaballet@gmail.com

Following withdrawal, we will stop future use based on that consent and, where reasonably possible and legally required, remove the relevant material from channels under our control.

Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place lawfully before the withdrawal.

General crowd or audience photographs and recordings may be created and used without individual consent where permitted by applicable Hungarian law.

13. Performances and Professional Recordings

Certain optional A-Ballet School performances or productions may be professionally photographed, filmed or recorded.

Where recording is an integral part of a particular production, separate Performance Participation and Media terms may apply.

Parents, legal guardians or adult participants will be informed of these conditions before confirming participation.

A student who does not accept the media conditions required for a particular recorded production may still continue attending regular School classes.

14. Sharing Personal Data

Personal data may be shared only where reasonably necessary with service providers and authorised persons involved in operating A-Ballet services.

These may include:

  • Wix and other website service providers;

  • payment processors;

  • invoicing and accounting service providers;

  • email and cloud service providers;

  • authorised A-Ballet instructors and administrative personnel;

  • IT and security providers;

  • Meta Platforms, where Meta Pixel or Meta advertising tools are used with the required consent;

  • Google, where Google Business Profile, booking integrations or other Google services are used;

  • professional advisers;

  • public authorities where disclosure is legally required.

Instructors and administrative personnel receive only the personal data reasonably necessary for teaching, attendance, communication, administration or safety.

Third-party platforms such as Meta and Google may also process personal data under their own privacy policies when users interact with their services.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

15. External Websites, Ticketing and Shop Services

Some A-Ballet performances, tickets, products or other services may be offered through separate websites, sub-sites or authorised third-party platforms.

When you leave www.worldaballet.com and purchase through another platform, the privacy policy and legal terms displayed by the relevant seller or platform may apply.

16. International Data Transfers

Some service providers used for website hosting, payments, communications or cloud services may process personal data outside Hungary or outside the European Economic Area.

Where required, such transfers are protected by an applicable adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful safeguard under the GDPR.

17. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or for the period required by law.

Accounting and invoicing documents are generally retained for at least 8 years where required by Hungarian accounting law.

Booking, customer relationship and contractual information may generally be retained for the duration of the relationship and, where necessary for legal claims, for up to 5 years after the relevant relationship or claim becomes due, unless a longer legal retention period applies.

Marketing information is retained until consent is withdrawn or the relevant marketing purpose ends.

WhatsApp participation information is retained only while necessary for participation or administration of the relevant group, subject also to WhatsApp's own retention practices.

Media consent and related media are retained for the period necessary for the stated purpose or until the relevant consent is withdrawn, unless another lawful basis permits or requires continued retention.

Cookie retention periods are described in the Cookie Policy and cookie settings.

18. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, alteration or disclosure.

Measures may include:

  • encrypted website connections;

  • restricted access to systems;

  • password and account protection;

  • reputable service providers;

  • appropriate system and software updates;

  • limiting access to persons who need the information for their work.

No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

19. Personal Data Breaches

Where a personal data breach occurs, we will assess the incident and take the measures required by the GDPR.

Where legally required, the relevant supervisory authority will be notified within the applicable statutory period.

Where a breach is likely to result in a high risk to affected individuals, those individuals will also be informed as required by law.

20. Your Rights

Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may have the right to:

  • obtain information about the processing of your data;

  • access your personal data;

  • request correction of inaccurate data;

  • request deletion of your data;

  • request restriction of processing;

  • object to certain processing;

  • receive or transfer certain data in a portable format;

  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;

  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise your rights, contact:

worldaballet@gmail.com

We may request reasonable information necessary to verify your identity before responding to a request.

22. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential website functions and, where the required consent has been provided, analytics and marketing purposes.

A-Ballet uses Meta Pixel to measure website activity, understand the effectiveness of advertising and improve marketing campaigns.

Meta Pixel and other non-essential analytics or marketing technologies are activated only where the applicable consent requirements have been satisfied.

Essential cookies required for website security and functionality may operate without consent where permitted by law.
