Biography

His Role at A-Ballet

As Co-Founder, Director and Producer, Dmitry develops the wider creative and production world of A-Ballet.

He works from the first idea of a project through to its realization on stage — connecting choreography, music, story, scenography, projections, light and theatrical timing.

His background as a professional dancer allows him to approach every production from inside the movement itself.

For Dmitry, technology and visual design should never overpower the dancer.

They should help the dancer, the music and the story become even stronger.

For Students and Families

Dmitry’s teaching is rooted in the classical tradition in which he was trained, but his approach is always connected to the individual student.

He works with posture, coordination, placement, strength, musicality, movement quality and stage awareness, helping students understand not only what to do, but why a movement works.

For children, this means building strong and beautiful foundations.

For adults, it means learning real ballet in a clear, supportive and respectful atmosphere.

And for more experienced students, it means learning to think beyond exercises — towards artistry, expression and performance.

EDUCATION & TEACHING

Dmitry trained at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St Petersburg, one of the most influential schools in classical ballet.

His teaching experience includes work with students and international masterclasses, including at the Korean National Ballet School in Seoul.

Years of performing principal roles, working with different choreographers and experiencing both classical and contemporary repertoire now form the foundation of his teaching at A-Ballet.

INTERNATIONAL BALLET CAREER

Dmitry began his professional career with the Israel Ballet, later becoming a Principal Dancer with the Croatian National Theatre and the Hungarian National Ballet.

His principal roles included des Grieux in Manon, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, James in La Sylphide, Basilio in Don Quixote, Franz in Coppélia, Lensky in Onegin and leading roles in The Nutcracker and Cinderella.

His repertoire also included works by choreographers such as William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Nacho Duato, Johan Inger and George Balanchine.

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Dmitry’s career has been recognised through awards including the Grand Prize at the Mia Čorak Slavenska International Ballet Competition, the Oskar Harmoš Award, Best Dance Artist of the Season, and the title of Étoile of the Hungarian National Ballet for the 2018/19 season.

He has also appeared in international gala performances, toured extensively and participated in screen productions including Red Sparrow, The Alienist, Colette and Genius: Picasso.

DIRECTING & VISUAL CREATION

Over time, Dmitry’s work expanded from performing to creating the complete world around a performance.

Today, his work includes stage direction, production, scenography, motion design, projections and lighting concepts.

His projects include The Nutcracker in Graz, international ballet gala productions, A-Ballet’s The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty with A-Ballet School in Budapest.

His creative approach is simple:

The dancer remains at the centre.
Everything else exists to strengthen the story.

MORE THAN A CAREER

For Dmitry, A-Ballet is a way to bring together everything he has learned through ballet, theatre and production.

To teach.
To create.
To build new worlds for the stage.
And to help people experience ballet not only as technique, but as story, emotion and beauty.

Aliya and Dmitry bring different strengths to A-Ballet:

Aliya works from the artist outward.
Dmitry builds the world around the artist.
Together, they create A-Ballet.

Their shared vision is to create with excellence, love and purpose — bringing together ballet, education, performance and beauty in one world.
